The mark, and
how to use it

Two interlocking rounded strokes. It is drawn as a vector that inherits the current text colour, so it stays sharp at any size and needs no separate file per colour.

• Never recolour it beyond white on dark or indigo on light. Those are the only two treatments.
• Never stretch or rotate it. Scale it proportionally or not at all.
• Never add effects. No shadows, glows, bevels or gradients over it.
• Never outline it. The mark is solid.
• Never place it on a busy screenshot or a photograph with detail behind it.
• Never render it below 24px. The counters close up and it stops reading as the mark.

• DecentralChain is the protocol and the network. It is not a legal person and should never be named as a contracting party.
• DecentralExchange is the company that operates the site, and the two names are not interchangeable.
• DecentralCoin is the coin, DCC the ticker. One DCC divides into 100,000,000 dcclets.
• Decentral.Exchange, with the dot, is the trading application. It is a different thing from DecentralExchange the company, and the two are easy to confuse in copy.

DecentralScan and Decentral.Exchange both use the DecentralChain mark rather than one of their own, so the same glyph appearing twice in a lockup is correct rather than a mistake.

One sheet covering the construction grids both marks are built on, the icon system, the lockups, minimum sizes and the treatments to avoid. It is the reference the rules above are drawn from, so where this page summarises, the sheet is what it summarises.

Its do not panel covers stretching, rotation, recolouring and effects; the list above folds those together with the placement and minimum-size limits that come from the mark itself. The sheet carries the same 24px floor. Open it full size before you put either mark somewhere new, because the construction detail does not survive being scaled down.
